Our ejector pins are used to eject completed parts from die moulds. They are commonly used in the plastics industry, automotive industry, medical industry, etc. The ejector pin in blade shape is used when there is only a small surface area on the finished part. The ejector pins are also known as knockout pins or KO pins. When the mould is opened, the ejector pins extend into the mould's cavity, push the completed part out and then retract, allowing the mould to close and be refilled.
The ejector pin's lifespan and durability will be enhanced if being correctly chosen for different application. The through hardened ejector pin is good all-purpose steel pin that has been heat-treated to have uniform hardness through its diameter. This ejector pin is often used for injection molding of plastics; also, it can be used in cool molding environment with the temperature below 200℃.
The case hardened ejector pin is nitrided pin that is suitable for die casting; it can be drilled or tapped. This durable ejector pin can be used under the temperature above 200℃. When compared with the through hardened ejector pin, this case hardened ejector pin can not only chip, but also have a longer lifespan under higher temperature.
The blackened or oxidated ejector pin is designed for working environments under extremely high temperature. Having a self-lubricating surface coating, this ejector pin can be used under the high temperature ranging from about 600℃-1,000℃.
